Sarah Krein, PhD

Sarah Krein is a research investigator at the Ann Arbor VA HSR&D Center of Excellence, a research associate professor of internal medicine, and co-director of the VAs Diabetes Quality Enhancement Research Coordinating Center. Her research interests include: understanding and improving management of patients with chronic health conditions, specifically those with complex or multiple chronic health conditions including diabetes and chronic pain; and organizational behavior and implementation research with a particular focus on enhancing patient safety by preventing health care-associated complications. Her research is currently funded through grants from the Department of Veterans Affairs and the National Institutes of Health.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mary, Bismarck, ND and PhD in Health Services Research, Policy and Administration from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN.
