Dr. Lucas is a pediatrician and health care consultant from Dearborn, Michigan. Dr. Lucas received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan Honors College, her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, and a master’s degree from the University of Michigan School of Public Health in Health Services Administration. Her consulting practice focuses on health care quality/performance improvement, health literacy, patient safety, and risk management. She previously served as corporate director of quality for a four-hospital integrated health care system in Southeast Michigan. Dr. Lucas has lectured at the state and national level, and is in her third term as a member of the Michigan State Medical Society Board of Directors, where she chairs the Board Scientific and Educational Affairs Committee. She is the lead physician on the Michigan State Medical Society Health Literacy Team.
