Immersion Calls

The immersion calls are an opportunity for participating hospital teams to gain familiarity with the concepts and interventions to be applied throughout the Stop BSI project. The first 30-45 minutes of each immersion call are devoted to a didactic presentation, given by nationally recognized faculty from Johns Hopkins University Quality Safety Research Group (JHU QSRG). The last 15-20 minutes of each call are reserved to address any questions that the hospital teams listening on the call may have.

The immersion calls will provide a thorough overview of the CUSP model and how to implement it in hospital units, as well as the interventions to eliminate CLABSI. Immersion calls will focus on the following topics:

  • Project Overview
  • Science of Safety
  • CLABSI Elimination
  • CUSP
  • Team Building
  • Physician Engagement

Early cohorts in the project participated in two additional immersion calls, which covered data entry and management and the Hospital Survey of Patient Safety Culture.  Participating hospital teams now receive this material in a series of webinars.  The recordings and presentations for the Cohort 1 immersion calls on data entry and management and HSOPS can be found in the Pre-Work > Training and Assessments Section of the Manuals and Toolkits page.
